Nine Chinese were killed on Sunday at a mining site in the Bambari region, in the center of the Central African Republic, which has been ravaged by civil war for years, Bambari’s mayor and a local security source told AFP on Sunday. . .

An attack targeting Chinese workers

“We counted nine bodies and two wounded”said Bambari mayor Abel Matchipata, who assures that the victims are Chinese nationals who are working on “a Chinese mining site” by “the mining company of the Gold Coast Group”located at 25 km.

A local security source confirmed the attack, the toll and the nationality of the victims. Contacted by AFP, the Chinese embassy has not yet responded.
